Not much info is online about Mardel, aka Frederico Vinhas, producer of the 2nd EP of Lisbon-based collective Vilamar. Perhaps for preferring to be outside of the spotlight and take the underground path of letting the music speak by itself, we can clearly sense that he has been honing his production techniques for quite some time, as he proves with his first-ever solo record.

As the label states, this 2nd EP "confirms the intentions laid out in their opening salvo from late 2020: this is classical, transparent techno that leaves little room for interpretation".

Hiding on the B2, Afrikaletra is a deep and hypnotic groover, combining tribal and electronic sounds with a solid modular arrangement. This tune will satisfy deep listeners' dreams, whether played early in the evening or late into the night.

With fat and wide sound design, this track aims to feed those big open-air sound systems from Waking Life, Labyrinth and Terraforma, to name a few.

So we recommend getting some proper headspace and getting locked into this monstrous groover!
