Reheat the Instagram account established by Mr. R, a dedicated record enthusiast committed to uncovering the enigmatic realms of electronic music, is now naturally evolving into the birth of a record label. The label aims to explore the more shadowy facets of the clubbing experience by curating tracks from diverse global producers.
The first EP comes in the form of a Various Artists compilation, featuring a roster of very promising producers – Frank A, Troy, 4D, and Nay – showcasing their diverse moods and sounds. The tracks range from upbeat and energetic on the A side, while the B side delves into darker, more introspective compositions.
Focusing on the B2 track from Liverpudlian artist Nay, titled ''Ruffians Are Best Avoided'' this track serves as a testament to his signature sound. A sinister, slow groover with a fat, wobbling bass gives the track an almost UK Garage feeling. On top of that, a haunting vocal spices things up to deliver the full package. For Nay, his obsession and goal as a producer is to define a distinctive sonic identity and unearth its essence. Music production serves him as an avenue of profound self- discovery, where the sound inherently mirrors the introspective essence intrinsic to the creative process, going for the deeper and darker sounds, as demonstrated with this fantastic track.
Keep an eye out for the imminent release, as this one won’t be around for too long!
